Welcome Aylin, our new German translation intern from Heidelberg
Last week, we welcomed Aylin Evin to our in-house German team and we’re delighted that in spite of the current restrictions on numbers in the office, we’ve been able to accommodate her in-house for at least part of her internship, so she can benefit from a taste of AJT life for real.
Aylin speaks German, English, French and some basic Turkish and, having initially signed up for Legal Studies at the University of Heidelberg, she decided to follow her love of languages and switched to translation after a year. She’s since completed both a BA and an MA in Translation Studies and became a sworn translator in 2017, enabling her to work as a freelancer during her MA studies to gain experience and expand her skills base. She’s also interned as a translator for an international personnel service provider in Germany and as a teaching assistant at a primary school in the UK.
In her spare time, Aylin enjoys reading, cooking and dancing, and loves settling down to watch a good TV show. She also loves growing plants but, not being particularly green-fingered, they don’t tend to survive long in her care!
While she’s with us, Aylin plans to explore our beautiful countryside and coastline, and also try her hand at bodyboarding.
