Welcoming our Summer 2020 French intern, Clara Mourey
Joining us until August, Clara is studying for an MA in Applied Foreign Languages, majoring in multilingual specialised translation – English and Russian – at the University of Grenoble Alpes in France.
Having spent an exchange year in Russia during her BA, Clara was keen to carry out her translation internship with AJT in Newquay this summer. Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 pandemic this wasn’t possible, but we have however been delighted to welcome her working remotely from home in Grenoble.
Clara is a keen amateur cook and loves the challenge of tackling a new recipe. She’s a huge fan of pastry in particular, her specialities being strawberry cream cakes and Yule logs. Growing up Clara was a member of a trampoline gymnastics club for over a decade and she still enjoys getting back on a trampoline to perform acrobatics whenever she gets the chance. She also loves watching TV shows and films, especially sad ones, but must always be snuggled up in a cosy blanket, her ‘pouniouniou’ as she calls it, to watch, even in the summer!
We hope Clara may still be able to join us in person later in the year, once restrictions are lifted and our office reopens, but, if not, we will continue to bring AJT life, and a little bit of Cornwall, to her via the medium of Zoom.
Are you interested in a translation internship at AJT? From 2021, all of our internships will be held remotely. Visit our Jobs page for more information about the internships we offer.
